PRE-FUTURITY AND
FUTURITY CLASSES
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The Old West/ARHFA events are open to all papered horses of any breed.
Pre-Futurity:
Age restriction – Eligible horses must be 3 to 4 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Age of a
horse shall be computed on the basis of a calendar year starting January 1 of the year foaled.
The actual month and date of a horse’s date of birth are not factored into the computing of
the age of a horse.
Proof of Age – All pre-futurity horses entered must submit breed papers showing proof of age.
No grade horses are allowed.
Number of Horses an Exhibitor can show per class – Exhibitors can show unlimited number of
horses in each class.
Class Format – At all Old West events in the Pre-Futurity Heading and Heeling classes, there is
2 full go rounds and progressive to the third round. Top cumulative high scores from the third
round will proceed to the finals. The number of taken to the finals will be determined by the
total entries in the class per management’s discretion. Management does reserve the right to
change the class format to progressive after the first round pending number of entries.
Subclasses – At all Old West events in the Pre-Futurity classes the subclasses will be paid out
in the finals.
Finals - At all Old West events the Futurity classes and Subclasses will have their own finals.
Entry Fee – entry fees are an all-in-one fee. If you qualify for subclasses they are included in
the entry fee. You simply just have to add them when you enter online.
Entry Fee - $2000/horse/class
Office Fee - $20/horse if paying with check
Admin Fee – 4% if paying with credit card
