PRE-FUTURITY AND
FUTURITY CLASSES
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Finals – At all Old West events the Futurity classes and Subclasses will have their own finals.
Entry Fee – entry fees are an all-in-one fee. If you qualify for subclasses they are included in
the entry fee. You simply just have to add them when you enter online.
Entry Fee - $2000/horse/class
Office Fee - $20/horse if paying with check
Admin Fee – 4% if paying with credit card
Subclass Rules:
The Intermediate and Limited subclasses are available to those riders who hold a current
yearly World Series card proving they are within the following guidelines.
Intermediate qualificationHeading – 7+ or lower
Heeling – 8+ or lower
Limited qualifications –
Heading -6+ or lower
Heeling – 7+ or lower
The Old West eligibility board authority reserves the right to approve or deny a rider’s
eligibility into the intermediate or limited divisions regardless of their World series number.
If a rider is denied eligibility by the eligibility board authority, he or she will be notified
immediately and any entry fees previously paid will be refunded. The board authority will
review the Intermediate and limited riders in question every two shows.
Riders must enter all subclasses on the entry submitted or prior to entries closing. Riders
cannot add a subclass to their entry after the class has started.
Intermediate Trailer Race – The trailer is awarded to the highest intermediate money earner
throughout the calendar year. All riders must meet the guidelines listed above throughout the
year to be eligible for this award. Old West Sale graduate money does not count towards this
award. At the Old West event in Heber City, Utah and the World Championship event the
intermediate riders will only receive half of their first-place earnings due to the large first place
payouts. The trailer will be awarded at the World Championship event on finals night.
Old West Sale Graduate Side Pot:
This pot is available to all Old West sale graduates in the Pre-Futurity classes. Sale graduate horses
must make the short go to be eligible for this side pot.
Pre-Futurity Heading, Heeling, and Breakaway side pot - $375,000 Added
First place - $50,000
Second place - $31,250
Third Place - $18,750
Fourth Place - $15,000
Fifth Place - $10,000
Total per class paid out- $125,000
